Ausable River
A 94 mile river that runs through the heart of the Adirondacks and empties into Lake Champlain. This river is most known for its fishing opportunities as well as gorges that can be found along the way. Many of the Adirondack communities are built around sections of this river what include Lake Placid, Wilmington, Ausable Forks and emptying out near Peru.
The Ausable River provides some of the best trout fishing that can be found throughout the region.
