Hoel Pond

This 450-acre pond is on the southern edge of the St. Regis Canoe region. The eastern shoreline is privately owned, but has 6 miles of shoreline to explore. This pond does have a public boat launch so getting onto the pond is a breeze.

This public boat launch is restricted for launching canoes or kayaks only. Shoreline owners are the only users permitted to launch motorized boats on the pond.

If you decide to drop a line in the water while out on Hoel Pond, expect to find landlocked salmon, lake trout, small & large mouth bass and a variety of other fish.

This is also a popular spot to go primitive camping with multiple spots at the northeast and southwest areas of the pond. Additionally, you may find some open campsites at the parking lot area. All of Hoel Pond’s campsites are first come, first served. Getting there early is a good idea to find and secure your camping site.
