Upper Saranac Lake

The longest of the chain of Saranac Lakes, Upper Saranac Lake provides some of the best boating that can be found in the Saranac Lake region. This lake offers 37 miles of shoreline with over 50% of it being privately owned. Even though over 50% of the shoreline is privately owned, there is still plenty of opportunity for visitors and locals to explore this lake. It offers some primitive campsites as well as great paddling, boating and fishing.

Access for boating and paddling varies. Paddling is easier with state launches, while boating will require launching from the Marina or Fish Creek Campgound.

Anglers should look for small & large mouth bass, northern pike, bullhead, and lake trout.
